About Us

Our story is a simple one. We love the SoCal desert. We were married here and want to inspire others to visit, relax and enjoy.

“We look forward to welcoming you to our bungalows. Your high desert hideway awaits…”

The Story of 29 Palms

Twentynine Palms was named for the palm trees found here in 1852 by Col. Henry Washington while surveying the San Bernardino base line. A post office was established in 1927. A road named Utah Trail honors the late 1800s pioneers on a trail originating in Utah that went to Twentynine Palms. The skies are beautiful. It is a place of extremes. A place stuck in time, full of hipsters, hillbillies, desert rats, marines and artists. The most extreme of extremes. But it’s hard not to fall in love with the purple mountains, the starry night sky, the endless empty land. Favorite places: Campbell Hill Bakery, White Label Vinyl, Kitchen in the Desert, Ramsey 29, Cactus Trail Café, Twentynine Palms Inn, Indian Cove Campground, Benjamin Bottoms’ Garden, The Cactus Bar, Out There Bar
